"Strengthening Youth Leadership: A Lasting Educational Initiative " (2002-2003)

This project aims primarily at providing Cripdes with the means to consolidate a youth national structure through the establishment of a systematic educational program to improve youth leadership in the rural communities. At the same time, as a result of the educational activities of the project, 300 young people from six departments of the country will improve their leadership skills and pertinent knowledge of the reality they face. Accordingly, these youth leaders will enhance their advocacy capacities to benefit their communities, the rural sector and the Salvadorean society in general.

By the end of the project, Cripdes will have established the bases for running and sustaining the educational initiative. The project will cover key aspects for the establishment of the Cripdes School of Youth Leaders such as the rehabilitation of facilities, the creation of a public image, the creation of bases for sustainability, and the organization of the pedagogic, educational, and management aspects of the school. The achievements of these results will ensure the establishment of a lasting educational Cripdes program focused on the specific needs of the Salvadorean reality and rural sector. Consequently, the content of the educational program will be completely adapted to the Salvadorean context.
