Dear Business Owner or Manager,
Since 1985, SalvAide has worked with the people of El
Salvador on grass-roots development projects, which truly make a difference
in the lives of many Salvadoran men, women and children. Many Canadians
also benefit from SalvAide's work, as our Delegation, Internship and
Twin Community programs give Canadians of all ages the chance to participate
in learning experiences and cultural exchanges.
Much of our funding, for projects like our School of Youth Leaders
or Women's Microcredit Programs, comes from the Canadian International
Development Agency. However, in order to carry out our important work,
we also need to raise funds privately. For the past several years we
have held a Fundraising Dinner and Auction, and we are in the midst
of planning our next one, which will take place on:
Thursday, October 30th, 2008
Cocktails and Viewing: 5:30 p.m.
Dinner: 7:00 p.m.
Live & Silent Auctions: from 8:00pm
Location: The Ukrainian Hall, 1000 Byron Ave,
Ottawa

Our Fundraising events are well attended and meet with
enthusiastic support. Last year we raised $20,000 thanks to the generous
support of our donors. This year, we are hoping to raise $22,000.
This is where your business can help. We would like
to ask for a donation of a gift certificate or item, which can be
auctioned off at our event. We would be pleased to acknowledge your
donation in our promotional material for the event, and can offer
you a tax receipt.
The need in the Salvadoran communities where we carry
out our work is acute - with your help we can assist even more people
to overcome adversity and lead lives of dignity. I hope we can count
